Patrick Henderson Kelly
Class of 2019
I enjoy participating in many activities when it is too cold or too snowy to play golf. I have been a competitive hockey player since I was 6 years old and earned a Varsity letter in both my freshman and sophomore years on the Cathedral Prep hockey team. One of my greatest athletic achievements was scoring the game-winning goal in overtime in the Penguins Cup Championship Game to send Cathedral Prep to the State Championship hockey game. I enjoy the physicality and intensity that goes into playing and preparing for a hockey game.
I am also a two-year Varsity letterman and starter on Cathedral Prep’s tennis team. Both years, our team has made it to the State tennis tournament. I enjoy the strategy and focus that goes into playing a great tennis match!
Outside of athletics, my peers have elected me Class President for my freshman, sophomore, and junior years. I intend to run for President of my senior class as well. I value being Class President and appreciate the experience because it allows me to be a leader in my class and present Cathedral Prep in a positive way to the rest of the community.
It's easy to tell from this that I hate being bored. I like being involved in a lot of non-golf activities during the offseason. Hockey and tennis, in particular, sharpen my competitive attitude and physical skills in the off-season and really help me when golf season arrives!
